The Autopian Track Day: A Day of Fun, Cars, and Surprises
I can't believe it's already been a month since we hosted our first official track day at Lime Rock Park. It was an incredible day filled with excitement, laughter, and some truly memorable moments. And let me tell you, it was definitely the Greatest Track Day In History (or at least, one of them!).
What made this event so special was the diverse range of cars and drivers. We had everything from classic Citroens to high-performance Subarus, and even a few vans that seemed to be having more fun than the rest of us! It was a true celebration of the automotive community, and I was honored to be a part of it.
One of the highlights of the day was the wet skidpad. It was a blast to see everyone pushing their cars to the limit, and the instructors did a fantastic job of keeping everyone safe. I even got to put the NISMO Armada on the skidpad just to make sure it was safe - it was a wonderful adventure!
But the real magic happened when we switched to the autocross track. The vans, in particular, seemed to be having a blast, and the instructors and staff were cheering them on. It was like watching a bizarro IMSA race, and it was a lot of fun!
The award ceremony was another highlight of the day. We gave out awards for things like being slow, having a car that didn't seem like it would make it home, and even having the oldest car. The prizes were fantastic, and Jason did a great job of making the certificates look professional.
Overall, the Autopian Track Day was an incredible success. It was a day filled with fun, cars, and surprises, and I can't wait to do it again.
